Zion Seed Foundation for Development (ZiSFoD) is an innovative, dynamic and solution-oriented school and community-based not for profit organisation based in Ghana, West Africa. The firm works across communities, schools and clusters – ‘sowing and growing seeds of sustainability’ through the provision of 21st century and context specific sanitation, hygiene, climate change, energy efficiency and conservation education solutions.

ZiSFoD also provides Literacy (reading) and Learning through technology, teacher training and capacity building, and Accelerated/Alternative Education Programmes (AEP). The focus is at the pre-tertiary level of education in Ghana – primary, Junior Secondary School (JHS) and SHS (SHS) in Ghana.

“Our vision is to empower students to drive sustainable change and build a resilient future through eco-solutions”. This is being achieved by sowing seeds of sustainability through ‘eco-literacy’.

Working under the “catch them young” model, we empower students to drive school-led environmental and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) solutions named ‘ECO-SOLUTIONS”, and reading solutions called “TECH-READ”.

This model offers a distinct technology reading solution aimed at improving reading at the primary school level.
Zion Seed enhances literacy and learning through technology by integrating innovative digital resources into literacy programmes, ensuring that students acquire essential reading and comprehension skills in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The Foundation is made up of a group of highly qualified experts and professionals with a long history of work experience in the environment and education sectors across Africa and other parts of the world. All team members have worked in a variety of cross-cultural situations. The Foundation also has Zonal Coordinators across all three zones of Ghana and also pulls on a variety of expertise from the University, Private and NGO sector within Africa. Each of the staff and associates have a demonstrated ability in a particular area of expertise with extensive work experience.
